The impact of the new London Casino and Gaming Show is boosting the footfall to the overall EAG event at the ExCeL venue in London this week.

Pre-registrations, confirms show director Nicola Lazenby, are 'substantially up' on last year.

"Looking at them in detail," Lazenby said, "makes it clear that many of the newbees are casino professionals and a large proportion of them are non-UK. We could be looking at a final registration up as much as 10 per cent on the 2024 figures."

The London Casino and Gaming Show (LCG) is a new, self-contained event within the larger EAG, dedicated to the suppliers of equipment and support services for the land-based casino sector. It arrives this year with a plethora of events, meetings and education opportunities. There is the UK Dealers' Championship, trade association assemblies, socialising and a top-level industry summit.

"It has rejuvenated the domestic market that has seen its home-grown international juggernaut event, ICE, move to Barcelona," said incoming EAG chairman Nick Harding, "and its specification that cuts out the long-haul walks through the overwhelming internet gambling sector seems to be largely welcomed."

Lazenby said that it was noticeable that many European casino industry professionals were planning to come into London for LCG and there was evidence that some transatlantic visitors were planning to drop in on the London show en route for Barcelona. "London was always popular, Brexit notwithstanding," she said, "so the EAG with its LCG addition seems to have hit the right buttons."
