Last month saw mixed fortunes across Italy’s four casinos, reports GiocoNewsCasino.it, with positives at Campione and Sanremo, while Venezia and Saint Vincent struggled with double-digit decline.

Casino di Campione enjoyed a good February, with land-based gaming revenue of €6.86m, up 11.8 per cent year on year. However footfall was down with the venue seeing 49,213 visits in the month, down 6.35 per cent.

In the first two months of 2017, the casino collected revenues of €15m, up 6.24 per cent year on year.

Casino di Sanremo also saw growth in February, up five per cent to €4.05m. In the first two months of the year, revenue totalled €7.9m, down 0.95 per cent compared with the same period in 2016. Despite the fall, that represented a recovery from January.

Casino di Venezia may have a relaunch due but the venue’s two locations saw revenue fall 10.8 per cent in February, to €6.7m – although it was the only of the four casinos to see a rise in visits, up 5.8 per cent in the month. For the year to date, the Venice casino collected €15.55m, down 10.13 per cent.

The poorest performer once again was the Saint Vincent Resort and Casino, cashing €4.4m in February, a drop of 17.17 per cent. Revenue to for the first two months of the year was €9.5m, a 20.65 per cent slump compared with the same period in 2016.
