The result of a technology co-operation between Germany’s Gauselmann Group and an Australian supplier made its debut last week at AGE, the Australasian Gaming Expo, in Sydney.
Gauselmann’s Merkur Gaming has teamed up with Independent Gaming to launch a new upright casino machine, Bluestar, on to the Australian market. Independent Gaming is Australia’s only fully independent gaming manufacturer and has 30 years’ experience in the market.
The technical collaboration uses a Merkurstar cabinet modified to Australian specification but made in Germany containing Independent Gaming’s technology for Bluestar - the first in a range of machines to be launched on to the Australasian market. Bluestar has a 25ins crystal screen depicting a neon light show and Merkur’s Wow sound system.
Gauselmann Group’s entry into the Australasian market, said Charles Hiten, Merkur Gaming’s CEO Americas, was clear evidence that the group is "not bound by conventional thinking." He added: "Making available our market leading innovation and manufacturing abilities and working hand-in-hand with Independent Gaming has provided stunning results.”
He was backed by Merkur’s international sales manager, Sakis Isaakidis, who said that the launch opened up new possibilities for both companies. He predicted a strong relationship emerging from the liaison.
