Macau's casinos generated their highest revenues of the year in October, figures from the enclave's Gaming Inspection and Coordination Bureau revealed.

The Chinese gaming hub saw revenues rise 49.8 per cent last month, the highest monthly rate of growth since July.

Gaming revenues hit 18.87bn patacas ($2.37bn) in October, up from 12.6bn patacas in the corresponding month last year.

For the first nine months of the year, total revenues have increased 58.8 per cent to 152.1bn patacas. May was the enclave’s strongest month of year-on-year growth, with revenue soaring 94.1 per cent to 17bn patacas.
