IGT has been found not to infringe two of Aristocrat's US patents by a judge in the District Court for the Northern District of California.

The patent infringement lawsuit brought against IGT alleged that the company’s multi-level progressive games, including its Fort Knox, Jackpot Hunter, Party Time and Wheelionaire mystery progressive systems, infringed Aristocrat’s US patent numbers 7,056,215 and 7,108,603.

However, Judge Ronald Whyte entered and order granting IGT’s motion for summary judgement on May 13.

Aristocrat has alleged that IGT is infringing an additional patent and has a motion pending to add that patent to the lawsuit. IGT is opposing that motion, stating that it has "meritorious defences" to the allegations.
