Angela Leong On Kei, an executive director of SJM Holdings, is hoping that Casino Jai Alai in Macau will reopen before the end of the year.
SJM Holdings’ 2015 annual report filed with the Hong Kong stock exchange makes note of Jai Alai Palace, the new name for the casino near the Macau Outer Harbour Ferry Terminal that opened in late 2009 and closed for remodeling in early 2013. The company took a break from renovations in early 2014 while awaiting certain government approvals and began again in earnest in May 2015.
Controlling interests and a vision for the new hotel and casino are included in the 2015 annual report, but no mention is made of table allocation. It is assumed that, when reopened, gaming will continue to occur under licence for Casino Oceanus at Jai Alai, across the street.
