The prevalence of illegal games within Latin America continues to be a major problem for the gaming industry, according to Austrian Gaming Industries managing director Jens Halle.
Speaking at the SAGSE Buenos Aires show in Argentina on Wednesday, Halle said the number of illegal games within the market is the company’s “biggest concern worldwide.”
The thousands of illegal games in Chile and Colombia, for example, are damaging to those engaged in the legitimate marketplace, he said.
“Hopefully, governments will take action because it’s not just hurting us, but the whole industry,” he told InterGaming. “It hurts the operators and it hurts the manufacturers who work within the legal specifications. Hopefully something will happen there.”
