A change at the top in Macau has raised hopes of a recovery for the area's casino industry.

Fernando Chui, the former culture secretary, replaced Edmund Ho as Macau’s chief executive officer following an uncontested election last Sunday. He will take office in December for a five-year term after the appointment gets Beijing’s formal approval.
It is widely believed that Chui will remove the restrictions on visitors from mainland China, Macau’s main source of gamblers.
