Las Vegas Sands' Macau casino unit, Sands China, is being investigated by the Securities and Futures Commission of Hong Kong for alleged regulatory breaches.
The news comes a month after the US-based operator announced that it was being investigated by the US Securities and Exchange Commission over its compliance with the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act.
In Hong Kong, the SFC is investigating whether Sands China has breached any provisions of the Securities and Futures Ordinance. The company has been requested to produce certain documents.
These investigations have been linked to the ongoing legal dispute with former Sands China chief executive, Steve Jacobs, who is suing the company for breach of contract. Jacobs has accused the company of seeking to use "improper leverage" against Macau officials.
However, this latest investigation from the SFC is thought to relate to the disclosing of information about the case, rather than the case itself.
