“Our main markets have been Europe and Asia, but we are seeing encouraging growth in this area,” the company’s Enrique Juetten said at last week's Australasian Gaming Expo in Sydney. Highlighted on the stand in Sydney was the Spectral range of banknote validators.

“There are our latest and greatest,” said Jutten. “We are showing the NV200 Spectral and the NV9 Spectral, both of which have new recycling units. The biggest advantage of these is that they can detect notes that have been involved in a robbery as well as counterfeit notes. This saves the operator a lot of money and, in some countries, it also prevents them from being prosecuted for handling stolen cash.

“The speed of these machines is much greater than before and they have the ability to see all the details of the not using a camera technique – and all of this comes at a very reasonable price.”

Also highlighted on the company’s stand was the ICU, which made its debut early in the year at ICE London. This biometric device has the ability to detect if someone playing a gaming machine, or ordering drinks, is under age. The 3D camera employs an algorithm developed by Innovative Technology. The ICU automatically detects the face and adapts to lighting conditions, ensuring high quality images and accuracy.

Any fraud attempts are detected and stopped using anti-spoofing algorithms. No images or data are stored on the ICU, ensuring GDPR compliance. Innovative Technology’s internal algorithms are optimised to efficiently and accurately extract a number of face images and perform bespoke machine learning.
