Plans for an amusement arcade in Ballincollig, Cork, Ireland have sparked a heated debate as a Cork city councillor calls for the community to rally behind blocking it.

CorkBeo reported the Cork city council has denied planning permission to a casino company planning to expand into the town after receiving “nearly 50 objections from local residents and businesses.”
However, Coalquay Leisure is now appealing to An Bord Pleanala for permission to proceed with the plans, prompting Sinn Féin councillor for Cork City South West, Joe Lynch to rally support against the plans once more.
"There are no benefits for our community from this proposal - only negatives," CorkBeo reported Lynch as saying. "It is clear that the community in Ballincollig must rally once more to record our opposition to this proposal to develop a large casino in our village, which we do not want … The people behind this proposal should be sent packing."
