US casino giant Harrah's Entertainment is reportedly looking to enter the fast growing Indian gambling market.

According to specialist investment news service, NDTV Profit, the operator is, through its Caesars Palace casino brand, partnering with the Royal Western India Turf Club to sponsor two big horse races this season at the Mahalaxmi Race Course in Mumbai.

The Indian horse racing season kicks off on November 18, and in addition to sponsoring the Juvenile Debut Stakes and the Palace Gold Trophy races, Caesars will also do some dealing off the track at an exclusive casino night.

“We are testing waters in India,” Caesars president Gary Selesner told NDTV. “The market is huge for us…there is a huge potential for our line of luxury hotels and entertainment options.”
