The Spanish Parliament has given the go-ahead to the giant Gran Scala gaming and leisure project, set for the open spaces of Aragon, to the north-east of Madrid.
The project is due to be built in stages and when completed will have over 30 casinos, plus many other amusement and gaming locations and family entertainment centres.
An Act of Parliament on July 6 came into force with its publication this week in the State Official Gazette. A €3m guarantee will have to be submitted to the Aragon Government by International Leisure Developments, the consortium building the project. The development will contain sports centres, shopping, leisure, hotels, housing and gaming.
