Genting will break ground on the $400m expansion of Resorts World New York this autumn.
The 750,000sq.ft addition will include a 400-room hotel and 140,000sq.ft of convention space, spa and retail.
Elsewhere, the Shinnecock Indians are again looking at the potential of developing a casino near New York City. A tribal referendum is scheduled in which members could decide between two casino proposals, one under a partnership with Good Ground Development and the other with the Bill Weidner-led Global Gaming Asset Management.
It remains unclear whether the proposals are for Class II or Class III gaming and if the plan is to develop on its existing reservation in Southampton, its property in Hampton Bay or whether other land will be purchased and put into trust.
