Despite the ravages of the pandemic, not all German companies are laying people off - the Gauselmann Group is recruiting, the company reported this week.

It is seeking 30 skilled workers for its factories at Lübbecke in North Westphalia, close to its Espelkamp headquarters. They are needed for the electronics section, said Ilka-Diana Kaufmann, who heads up HR at the factory.

Kaufmann said that there was a major backlog of orders that could not be processed because of the lockdown and interruption of the supply chain from suppliers. In addition, Germany has a new set of technical guidelines that means the replacement of the AWP sector.

“We have found some skilled workers, but we still need considerably more, at least for temporary support, especially for the equipment that needs to be converted to the new specification.”
