The organisers of the big Las Vegas gambling exhibition, G2E, have called a press conference for Tuesday of next week in the city to announce important changes to the 'G2E family of events.'
Most of the hierarchy of the supporting American Gaming Association and the organisers, Reed Exhibitions, will be on hand to field press inquiries following the announcement.
InterGaming has learned that the subject is likely to be a change of venue for the show and a move back to preferred, earlier, dates. The show has traditionally been held at the Las Vegas Convention Center, but the organisers always preferred a September date rather than November, which is the current slot for the show.
With the sharp reduction in the size of the show in 2009 and other considerations including costs, the lack of availability of a September date and other factors, we understand that the plan is to move the show to the Sands Convention Center, about one mile from the Las Vegas Convention Center. This would happen in 2011 but the announcement is being made now in order to enable Reed to prepare a fresh layout for the show with a ‘clean sheet’ and sell it at this year’s show in November.
The new dates are likely to be in October and by year three of the exercise moving the dates again, this time close to the end of September, beginning of October.
