A celebration cake was cut to mark the 30th anniversary of the founding of FutureLogic, the thermal gaming printing specialists during the G2E trade show in Las Vegas this week – and it was cut three times.

Keen to ensure that as many people as possible joined the company in marking the occasion, FutureLogic had the cake-cutting ceremony, accompanied by champagne, at the same time on each of the three mornings of the show.

Specially brought in to perform the cake cutting was Mark Meyerhofer, the company founder, although the current company’s CEO was his first employee in 1983 - his brother Eric.

Its beginnings were as an electronic components supplier but FutureLogic quickly began to specialise in the gaming industry. It was in 1999 that the company produced its first GEN1 ticket printer in conjunction with slots giant IGT, which was launching its TITO (ticket-in, ticket-out) system. IGT sought a printing company that could produce a printer to work with TITO.

To date, FutureLogic has shipped 1.6 million thermal ‘fanfold’ ticket printers, more than all of its competitors put together.
