With a fortnight still to go, the organisers of the ELA expo in Mexico have announced that the space at the show has completely sold out.

Demand for space at this year’s exhibition, which is being held in Mexico City on May 4-5, prompted Expoazar to extend the trade show floor on three occasions.

Pablo Jara, general manager of Expoazar, said he is confident that this year’s event will exceed all expectations. "The absence of four or five big slots manufacturers will be more than offset by the presence of some of the world’s leading manufacturers of traditional casino gaming equipment," he said. "The licensing of roulette, craps, sic bo, etc., means that Mexico has experienced the greatest market growth on the five continents."

In addition to specific products for the Mexican market, ELA 2011 will also showcase Class II slots, as operated at many Native American casinos and visitors from Central America and the Caribbean will have the opportunity to experience state-of-the-art products not available at the regional and local mini-fairs organised in their regions.

ELA, he said, will have approximately 100 stands and over 200 companies represented.

"Another important feature of this event is that it is a ‘boutique’ fair," explained Jara, "one at which not only the organisers but also the exhibitors take care of each meticulous detail, independently of whether they have taken small booths or 500m mega-stands. Huge amounts are invested in decorating stands, preparing the venue and extending VIP treatment to all visitors and exhibitors.

"In short, it is a welcoming, friendly fair, with an atmosphere not experienced at other sector events."
