Both come with long experience in the international business sector. Dieter Kuhlmann, the group’s main board director with responsibility for gaming operations, said: “Their experience is highly relevant, since our international activities in the UK are continuously expanding.”

Lüngen and Bruns succeed Nick Harding, who remains with the group to represent its political interests in the UK market.

Bruns has been with Gauselmann since 2014, supporting the main board in a number of international projects and was responsible with Athanasios Isaakidis for the operating of Merkur Gaming, its machine supply subsidiary. He has been operations director of Casino Merkur International with around 400 venues in various European countries since the start of 2017. He will continue in this role, adding on his responsibilities with Praesepe.

Lüngen has 25 years’ experience in financial controlling, accounting and project management and more than 13 years in various sales roles within the food retailing sector. He has worked in Asia and in the Czech Republic, Turkey and Poland. His most recent experience was with Metro Cash and Carry in the Ukraine.

Praesepe currently operates 181 arcades and bingo clubs with 9,417 amusement and gaming machines in the UK and has over 1,800 employees. It became part of the Gauselmann Group in 2012.
