Crown Resorts has said that it will “vigorously defend” a legal challenge to its casino complex at Barangaroo in Sydney, Australia.

Crown said it had been served with legal proceedings from the Millers Point Fund Incorporated, challenging the validity of the decision made by the New South Wales Planning Assessment Commission regarding Crown’s concept plan for Barangaroo, which was approved in June.

According to the company, the first return date for the legal proceedings in the Land and Environment Court of NSW was August 26, 2016. Crown’s $2bn six-star development in Barangaroo is scheduled to open in 2021.
