Colombian lotteries have delivered COP79.1bn (£15.8m) to the country’s health sector in 2024, according to the gambling regulator Coljuegos.

The regulator added that jackpot prizes awarded in the six lotteries so far this year total COP37.2bn (£7.4m).

“Both the transfers and the prizes paid show that it is worth playing legally,” Coljuegos president Marco Emilio Hincapié said.

“For this reason, from the entity, we are signing agreements throughout the country to protect and strengthen territorial games.”

The Medellín Lottery’s jackpot prize of COP15bn (£3m) is the highest to date this year.
