The Spanish enclave on the North African coast, Ceuta, is to pass a law limiting the number of gambling venues in the city.

The local authority has major backing from assembly members for a proposal to prevent the proliferation of betting shops and restrict access by minors.

The gambling regulations will be amended to force a minimum of 100m between any of these outlets and educational centres and the number of gaming halls will be maximised at one per 16,000 inhabitants.
