Proposals have been submitted for a £35m casino, hotel and leisure complex to developed in the coastal town of Great Yarmouth, UK.

Pleasure and Leisure Corporation submitted the proposal to Great Yarmouth Borough Council after the UK government granted permission for a new large casino to be built in the Norfolk town.

The group, which operates Great Yarmouth Pleasure Beach, is partnering with Aspers Casino on the 100,000sq.ft site, which would include a large casino, a 180-room hotel, a multiplex cinema and a bowling alley.

It is understood that the council will now spend the next six months deciding on the group’s plan for the complex, which has been dubbed The Edge.

Albert Jones, managing director of Pleasure and Leisure, said construction on the multi-purpose venue could begin quickly if approval is granted, making for a potential 2012 opening.
