The authorities in Romania have shut down Casino Palace in Bucharest and revoked the licence of operator Queen Investment Inc.

Queen Investment Inc, an affiliate of Queenco Leisure International, was notified on Tuesday by the Romanian Gambling Commission that its licence to run the casino had been cancelled and that the casino would cease trading due to debts owed to the country’s tax authorities.

The company, along with its Romanian counsel, has appealed against the Commission’s decision.

Casino Palace opened in 1995 and has eight gaming halls containing a total of 24 gaming tables and 110 slot machines.

Queenco Leisure International estimates that the foregoing decision will not have a material effect on its results of operations.
