Work has begun on Caesars Entertainment's latest venture, the $400m Horseshoe Casino Cincinnati in Ohio, US.

The new property, which is being developed in partnership with Rock Gaming, will include a 100,000sq.ft gaming floor featuring 2,300 slot machines, 72 table games, a high-limits area, a World Series of Poker room and a VIP player’s lounge.

After successfully leading the November 2009 constitutional referendum approving full-service gaming in Ohio’s four largest cities, Rock Gaming chose to partner Caesars in both the Cincinnati project and another casino development in Cleveland.

"It is only appropriate that Horseshoe - one of our legendary and fastest growing brands- makes its mark here in the Queen City," said Caesars Entertainment president and CEO, Gary Loveman. "Our Horseshoe casinos are the overwhelming preferred choice in gaming in each of the five markets where they operate and we fully anticipate Horseshoe Cincinnati will enjoy similar success."

Kevin Kline, who previously served as assistant general manager of Horseshoe Hammond in the Chicagoland area, has been named general manager of the new casino.
