Atronic Group will relocate its North American headquarters from Scottsdale, Arizona, to Las Vegas in the next couple of months.
At the same time, the company’s Scottsdale manufacturing unit will be moved to the Spielo factory in New Brunswick, Canada.
Atronic Group CEO Gerhard Burda, who is a senior vice president at GTech Gaming Solutions, confirmed that he expected the final transition to full ownership of Atronic by GTech to go through by the end of May.
"The process has been by necessity a slow one," he said, "as there are a host of regulatory approvals to be obtained from the various gaming commissions, mainly in the US. We obtained formal approval in Nevada only last week, but we are confident that the outstanding approvals will be obtained by the end of May."
The process of integration of the Atronic Group into GTech Gaming Solutions along with Spielo, however, is well on its way and planned to be completed by the end of 2008.
"The move from Scottsdale to Las Vegas was inevitable," Burda continued. "All of the leading suppliers to the industry are based in Las Vegas. We will move our North American operations and our Atronic US Class III gaming operations to a new building to the north of McCarren Field, where the rest of the industry is located."
Burda said that the manufacturing processes from Scottsdale would move into the Spielo factory at Moncton, New Brunswick, Canada, where there is a base of skilled labour and a favourable investment environment from the provincial government.
Burda’s comments on the future outcome of the full integration of Atronic Group into GTech Gaming Solutions came in an exclusive interview with InterGaming, which will be published in our May Austrian Special Issue of the magazine.
