The next operator of Britain’s National Lottery, Allwyn, is to acquire Camelot Lottery Solutions group, currently owned by Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan Board.
Camelot LS operates the Illinois Lottery in the US and has a technology development division that works with operators and lotteries in Europe and in North America.
While no changes are planned for the Camelot LS business, it will now have access to Allwyn’s experience, largely in the European market.
The move is an important one for Allwyn, strengthening its presence in the North American market. The group operates lotteries in Austria, the Czech Republic, Greece, Cyprus and Italy, apart from its upcoming takeover of the UK National Lottery.
Camelot group is an affiliate of Camelot UK Lotteries, the former operator of the British game.
