Two French companies, AirJet Designs and Designescence, are planning to accommodate in-flight gambling with proposals for an on-board casino jet lounge.
The Toulouse-based firms have already built a prototype in the forward section of a Boeing 777, which includes a bar area and a blackjack table. The consortium calls the proposal a “VIP-type concept with revenue-generating potential, bringing back the excitement and glamour associated with air travel in its heyday.”
Although US law prohibits any gambling on board jets in American airspace, AirJet and Designescence hope the concept will take off in other territories.
