A Vietnam court has sided with a casino patron over a disputed $55.5m jackpot at the Sheraton Saigon Hotel in Ho Chi Minh City.

It is the first time a court has ruled for a customer on a malfunctioning slot machine and could raise risks to gaming operators in Vietnam, Cameron McKnight of Wells Fargo said. However, the case is likely to be appealed, McKnight noted.
