In Russia’s Primorsky Territory, OJSC Nash Dom Primorye, the government-owned corporation, has formally invited investors to submit proposals for developing integrated casino resorts there.

Primorye zone Primorye zone

The Primorye zone is located just 20km from the new Vladivostok International Airport on the Pacific coast of Russia and is one of four designated gambling zones. It is the only zone, however, with direct access to Asia.

The organisation announced its intention to launch a Request for Concepts process at the G2E Asia trade show in Macau earlier this year. The government is seeking to develop an integrated entertainment zone boasting five-star hotels, exhibition facilities, casinos, waterparks and other amenities.

"The RFC process will streamline communication, allowing more structured and transparent exchanges with global investors,” said Nash Dom Primorye general director Marina Lomakina. “While casino gaming is legal in the zone, we are looking for concepts that focus on tourism development. Every effort is being made to ensure that global investors are confident in the business environment of Primorye. We look forward to receiving RFC responses that capitalise upon Vladivostok's strong links with Asia."

All RFC submissions are required by September 21.

“We believe the IEZ will create a compelling experience for Asian tourists seeking a destination that is near, but culturally different,” continued Lomakina. “We also believe that investors will be interested in the tourism and casino gaming potential of the IEZ.”
