Recent years have seen huge steps in the field of dealer aids with intelligent card shoes, sophisticated deck shuffling machines and increasingly efficient gaming chip sorting machines making the job at the casino table much easier while also adding extra levels of security for operators.

TCS John Huxley is one of the leaders in this field and premiered the first-of-its-kind Chipper Champ chip machine for the UK market in 1979 at The Palm Beach Casino in London. This product introduced automated electronic gaming equipment to tables in what was up to then a highly traditional arena as roulette tables required a pair of dealers with the speed somewhat slower.

“Our Chipper Champ and subsequent Chipper Champ plus changed all of that with their ability to sort chips by colour quickly and efficiently, which allowed the dealer to concentrate on payouts and the game,” said Tracy Cohen, marketing manager for TCS John Huxley.

“Casinos quickly discovered the benefits of speeding up play as well as reducing staffing costs.”

Building on the success of the Chipper Champ plus, which was launched in 1998, TCS John Huxley extensively enhanced the product to launch the next-generation Chipper Champ2 in 2007.

“Every small detail of Chipper Champ2 has been created with its users in mind,” said Cohen.
