Some of Europe's leading gambling operators, including Casinos Poland, Betfair and Betsson, have chosen the Legal Gaming in Europe Summit to continue the debate on gambling legislation.

January 24-25, 2011, will see the gaming and gambling industry converge at the Legal Gaming in Europe Summit in London, ahead of the ICE show, to identify, discuss and overcome the gambling industry’s biggest obstacle to growth - regulation.

"The industry is just now realising what regulation means. Being regulated by one offshore regulator is fun but unrealistic," commented Gigi Levy, 888 CEO.

As the European Commission continues to grapple with implementing an EU-wide system that can deal with the cross-border nature of egaming, countries and jurisdictions are increasingly beginning to turn to local licensing as a means to secure a much-needed source of revenue.

A ‘country of origin’ approach is no longer sufficient and operators must keep up to date on the latest rules on licensing, advertising, payment processing, player protection and taxation in each jurisdiction where they do business and when assessing considerations for new market entry.

Responding to this need, the Legal Gaming in Europe Summit will provide those attending with a definitive guide to moving into lucrative new European markets without falling foul of the regulatory minefield.

Over two days of industry keynotes, operator case studies, panel debates and industry roundtables, a group of over 25 speakers will guide attendees through the key challenges affecting the legal gaming and gambling industry in Europe currently. The speaker line-up consists of operators discussing their knowledge and expertise, including Betsson, Betfair, Harrah’s and Casinos Poland, along with regulators from Belgium, Norway, Denmark, Germany and leading industry gambling lawyers from around Europe.
