Following recent news that i-gaming operators based in Gibraltar will no longer enjoy the preferred gaming tax of one per cent but have to adhere to the 15 per cent applicable in the UK, there are plans to restructure the territory’s i-gaming tax system.

The Gibraltar government’s gaming minster, Albert Isola, said in his annual budget speech that the outcome of the EU judicial process that resulted in the loss of the privilege, meant that Gibraltar would modernise the system.

“I plan to discuss with the industry,” added Isola.
