The 100 per cent growth since June 2015, is expected to continue throughout 2016.

The extension to the Melita Business data centre forms part of a multi-million euro investment that is being rolled out over a five-year period.

“More companies are choosing the Melita Business data centre for its unique, purpose-built and state-of-the-art facilities that meet the very demanding security specifications of multi-national companies and time-sensitive transactions,” said Malcolm Briffa, director of business services at Melita.

“The new data centre continues to solidify Melita’s chain of investments that were completed in recent years to strengthen its network infrastructure,” said Briffa.

“These include a submarine fibre cable to mainland Europe, international links to the world’s best internet providers directly in Milan and nationwide availability of dedicated internet over fibre for businesses, specifically to assist companies in Malta to do better business with the rest of the world.”
