Japanese video game giant Sega Sammy has announced plans to develop and operate a casino resort complex near to Incheon International Airport in South Korea.

Paradise Paradise

The casino, which will be located in the International Business Center adjacent to the airport, will be the result of the joint venture between Sega Sammy and South Korean casino and hotel company Paradise Co – Paradise SegaSammy - that was formed in May last year.

The resort is expected to open in 2016, although Paradise SegaSammy has acquired Paradise Casino Incheon, a casino facility located near the airport that was under the Paradise Group’s control. This will enable the companies to develop what they describe as Korea’s “first large-scale resort complex established with a casino” by expanding the existing property and utilising its gaming licence.

Sega Sammy, which is also developing a resort complex in Busan Metropolitan City in South Korea and operates the Phoenix Seagaia Resort in Japan, said it now plans to establish a structure to enter the business of operating resort complexes that include casinos, which it views as a “new profit-making opportunity.”
