Gaming Partners International president and chief executive Gerard Charlier is to retire on September 12.

Charlier has been with GPI since 1985, when he initially served on the board of directors of its founding company Bourgogne et Grasset, and will continue to serve as a member of its board of directors once he steps down from his current role. GPI has appointed Gregory Gronau, who joined the company as executive vice president and chief operating officer in October last year, as his successor.

“GPI has been my life’s work for so long and while I will miss the day-to-day activity, I am very confident in handing the reins over to Greg,” said Charlier. “Having worked closely together over the last several months, I know that the experience and commitment that Greg brings to GPI will continue to advance the company as a global leader in table games equipment and technology.”
