Figures released by regulator PAGCOR show that Q3 total gross gaming revenue in the Philippines increased 11.2 per cent year on year, led by higher revenue from casinos in Entertainment City.

Q3 leap for Philippines

Revenue from casinos and online gaming sites totalled PHP39.74bn (€750m) in the third quarter.

Online gaming revenue was PHP5.57bn (€110m), up from PHP5.32bn (€100m) a year prior. Casino revenue surged to PHP34.16bn (€650m), compared with PHP30.41bn (€580m) in Q3, 2015.

For the year to date, revenue is PHP118.26bn (€2.24bn), compared with PHP133.27bn (€2.52bn) for the whole of 2015.

The majority of gains came from casinos in Entertainment City, which generated revenue totalling PHP26.6bn (€500m) in the period, up from PHP18.88bn (€360m).
