Latin America may be a challenging place to do business but there is cause for optimism, believes Mike Dawber.

IT is difficult to generalise about such a vast, diverse region as Latin America, which encompasses around 500 million people in more than a dozen countries, straddling a couple of continents from the border with the US to the tip of Chile.

Beset by political instability, economic inequality and social upheaval, with the consequent crime and corruption, it is a challenging place to do business in.
