Engineering Manager

Our development team consists of passionate gamers and tinkerers, driven to make the most fun, engaging and rewarding games and experiences for our players. We collaborate, evaluate, and iterate on everything that goes into the game, with a strong focus on “easy to play, hard to master”, and great user experiences. At LAI Games, all our games are developed internally from grounds up including mechanical parts (wood, plastics. metal, etc), electrical system, harnessing and human interface devices. As the leader of the development team, the Engineering Manager will be involved in every aspect of the game development from building engineering prototypes, testing and evaluating the latest technologies and solving complex problems with manufacturing partners to bring the industry’s most innovative games and experiences to life.

Lead a team of mechanical and electronics engineers to design and engineer solutions to meet the games design intent and specifications
Collaborate with game developers and industrial designers to translate the design intent into the product design
Design, build and test engineering prototypes to gather user feedback, resolve technical issues and refine game play settings
Design, build and operate development rigs for testing components, sub-assemblies and concepts
Work closely with manufacturing partners to ensure engineering designs meet the manufacturing capabilities of the factories and are cost effective to manufacture
Inspire and mentor our engineers to grow in their careers and professional development
Create and maintain the product BOM and technical documentation that detail the engineering design specifications
Build and maintain a Product Life Cycle (PLM) system to capture the documentations throughout the development cycles

10 years or more of hands on experience in system or engineering design with at least 5 years in leading an engineering team
Strong experience with either electronics design tools such as Altium or mechanical design tools such as ProE, Autodesk Inventer and SolidWorks
Strong experience in reviewing and debugging systems (comprising of electromechanical design, PC systems, Embedded system and harnessing)
Strong ability in creating and maintaining design guidelines, production & testing procedures and user manual
Familiarity with UL safety standards and test equipment would be an advantage
Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal
A passion for games is critical as you'll be collaborating with the games development team and contributing to LAI Games products

Bachelors degree in Engineering (Mechanical, Electronics or Mechatronics)
Advance Diploma or Master of Engineering (in Product Design or Industrial Design) or equivalent work experience
