ELA 2012

Centro Banamex, Mexico City – Mexico

Event Information

Taking place in Mexico on May 16-17, ELA will once again play host to some of Latin America’s key gaming equipment manufacturers, suppliers and distributors. Notable by the absence, however, will be some major international slot companies.

The event, which will once again this year be held at the impressive Centro Banamex complex in Mexico City, has grown in significance since it was first held in Monterrey in 2008. Its importance mirrors that of the market itself, which has been among the fastest growing in the world. This has brought its own widely documented problems, however, as regulations have failed to keep up with the pace of change.

Last year’s ELA was markedly quieter in terms of foot traffic than in previous years, yet exhibitors spoke of successful meetings with key representatives from the handful of major casino groups – proving once more that the show is predominantly a domestic event. The continued uncertainty over the future legislative framework may once again deter some from attending or exhibiting, but the show will no doubt give fresh impetus to calls for reform.
