Co-organised by Haw Ji Co (GTI magazine) and Guangzhou Convention and Exhibition Service Centre, the GTI Asia China Expo, which is now in its third year, confirmed its position as the trade show for the Chinese amusement industry.
The exhibition area, which took place in halls one to three covered 300,000sq.m of floor space and accommodated 195 exhibitors, 175 of which were from mainland China, 13 from Taiwan, two from Hong Kong and five from Japan. According to the organisers, exhibitor numbers increased by 43 per cent for this year’s show and exhibition space was three times bigger than in 2009.
A number of influential governmental officials were invited to attend the opening ceremony of the show including Cao Jian-Liao, vice mayor of Guangzhou Municipality. In his speech he noted: “GTI Asia China Expo offers an ideal interactive platform for the local and overseas e-game related members.
“Cross-boundary communication and cooperation will definitely advance the Chinese e-game industry and make it evolve,” he said.
GTI Asia China aimed to offer a complete spectrum of amusement products and equipment including shooting games, racing games, fighting games, cabinets, spares and parts, cash handling solutions, card readers and more. All the major players in the industry were represented including: Tecway/Mecpower, UNIS, Golden Dragon and Dragon Luck Amusements from China and Sega and Namco from Japan to name a few. While the number of companies from Taiwan increased to 13 and included Lu-Hao, Le Chi Hwa, Wissly Precision and JT-Comatz among others.
