SAGSE Buenos Aires 2011

Costa Salguero Convention Center, Buenos Aires – Argentina

Event Information

The largest gaming show in Latin America, SAGSE Buenos Aires in Argentina is once again being held at the Costa Salguero Covention Centre.

Last year's edition of the show, which was held at the end of September, was well attended and although there are those sceptical about the actual benefits of switching SAGSE and G2E round, the 2011 expo is nonetheless highly anticipated.

Bringing together both Latin American and international exhibitors, this year's SAGSE provides the first opportunity to showcase new products and equipment launched at G2E, as well as a host of games and solutions specifically targeted at the local market.

Often suppliers and manufacturers forgoe exhibiting at other regional shows because the Buenos Aires event pulls in visitors from across the continent. And it is a continent that is performing well. Unlike others around the world, the Latin American markets have been largely resilient in the face of the global economic downturn and have therefore seen consistent growth in gaming revenues. It is estimated that the gaming industry's annual growth will be second only to Asia over the next few years as new casinos open their doors throughout the continent.

Such is the potential of the market and the speed by which it is developing that exhibitors increasingly bring their most sophisticated, cutting-edge gaming solutions and find a receptive customer base willing to deploy them. Argentina and Chile, for example, now boast some of the finest casinos anywhere in the world. SAGSE has played - and continues to play - a key role in developing these highly lucrative, emerging markets.

Most exhibitors that InterGaming spoke to suggested that the market was relatively stable and, rather than accelerating at a dangerous rate, year-on-year growth is steady. The region has definitely been affected by the global downturn but operators here have the experience to deal with such conditions and are streamlining their businesses yet continuing to invest.

Everyone, it seems, is confident that 2012 will be a stronger year than 2011 and, although some questioned the level of traffic at the show, SAGSE is expected to continue to attract both major exhibitors and visitors next November.
