With an increase in both exhibitor and visitor numbers, EAG Expo 2011 proved itself as 'the' show for the European coin-op amusement industry and kicked off the 2011 show season in a positive light.
Showcasing the latest product launched at the IAAPA show in Florida, in November, as well as some never before seen product, the EAG Expo was well received by everyone InterGame spoke to and the opening night party, featuring a free bar sponsored by Namco Europe, went down particularly well.
The only point that did cause some difference of opinion was the show's opening times - while some of the exhibitors had pushed for a 7pm finish, the majority of people we saw would like to see future shows feature shorter hours, the consensus being that not much happens before 10am and by 5pm the numbers start to dwindle.
We had busy periods and we definitely had people looking but not buying - people are still cautious.—Kevin Weir, Electrocoin
We've seen a lot of UK visitors and I think the industry is beginning to feel better about itself, but I'm not sure whether the economy is.—Colin Mallery, Harry Levy Amusements
The EAG Expo has grown up over the past 12 months and there was certainly a better vibe - it felt more natural compared with the first year show. Our sales team had back-to-back meetings with customers for the full three days, something that's not happened in years.—Justin Burke, Sega Amusements
I was really impressed with the show. We saw lots of different people coming through the doors interested in our product.—Marc-Antoine Pinard, Adrenaline Amusements
25th Jan 2011 – 27th Jan 2011
