One of the hits of the IAAPA trade show is now being shipped by developer ICE, the redemption games specialist.

The game has the National Hockey League branding in its name, NHL Air FX, and is a two-player air hockey game, but with many features that enhance it beyond air hockey games currently on the market.

“It ramps up the excitement so much more than you would expect from games of this genre,” said ICE’s Ryan Coppola. “It is fun for all age groups but has a competitive edge to it, heightened by special effects and some clever ideas such as positioning the goals flush with the end of each side.

“It has a new play surface made from acrylic that gives the puck a great zip to its movement. There are new black guard rails to give the overall appearance a really slick appearance. There is an NHL-branded scorecard and the entire playfield is backlit.”

What enhances the game’s appeal still more is the ability for the operator to choose from any of the 32 NHL teams for the décor and cabinet of the machine, which can be adapted for ticket redemption.
