Benchmark Games International has launched a new boxer game, featuring a famous cartoon licence.
Popeye Boxer is the company's first licensed boxer and utilises the famous sailor’s likeness in a fun and inventive way.
The game celebrates the 95th anniversary of the character, with Popeye and his cast of friends and foes featured front and centre. Popeye is manufactured in Poland and will be the flagship model of BGI’s boxer line.
In the game, players compete for high scores and try to max out Popeye’s Spinach Can Power Meter. It also features bright lights and sounds, along with a marquee that include Bluto, Olive Oyl and Popeye.
BGI’s executive vice president of product development, Kern Jennison, said: “Popeye's strong spirit perfectly embodies the essence of our new licensed boxer.
“As with the Popeye brand, this game is built to last with players embarking on a journey of strength, determination and fun as they battle for Olive Oyl. It's not just a game; it's a celebration of strength and adventure.”
