A seaside town in western Mexico has launched a zipline attraction in an attempt to boost the number of tourists visiting it.

Zipline

Mazatlán has now opened the Farolesa Zipline after the idea was first put forward in January 2020. Construction began this year and was completed recently, resulting in the attraction that links the Cerro del Crestón peninsula with Mazatlán’s 1873 observatory.

Built 160m above sea level and measuring 1.2km, riders reach speeds of up to 100kmh and take in views of the beautiful port town.

Luz Noticias reports that Amado Guzmán, the businessman who built the attraction, stresses that the zipline is to benefit all residents of the town.
