The independent report came from North Wales Tourism. The company has reached the economic impact assessment with £690m added in the past five years since the last published figure of £251m in 2018.

Jim Jones, chief executive of North Wales Tourism, commented: "Zip World has been the catalyst to the branding of North Wales as the Adventure Capital of Europe and the company remains steadfast in its mission to not only thrill visitors but also to enrich and empower our Welsh communities."

The company is the brainchild of former Royal Marine and native of Conwy, Sean Taylor. Today the company has three sites in North Wales, at Penrhyn Quarry, Bethesda, Velocity 2 at Llechwedd Slate Caverns and Fforest the alpine coaster, while in South Wales it has the Zip World tower in Rhondda Cynon Taf.
