A 38m-wide example of the popular cinema screen format is due to open in 2020.

Lochmann Filmtheaterbetriebe, a German independent cinema operator, will have the screen installed in its Leonberg location in the south west of the country.

The new record holder has surpassed previous huge screens in China and Australia and comes as the US chain takes its number of venues in Germany to 10.
