Sad news for the UK coin machine industry as it begins a new year. Alma Thomas, wife of Jimmy Thomas (Thomas Automatics, Thomas Holdings), sadly died on New Year's Eve, December 31, 2008.

Alma, who was 74, had struggled against cancer for several years. Apart from Jimmy, Alma leaves a son, Simon, two daughters, Lisa and Carla, and seven grandchildren.

Alma Thomas had been the widely-respected partner of her husband and was deeply involved in his business interests from their marriage in 1958 until illness reduced her input more recently. Alma was also a familiar partner for Jimmy in his official capacities in trade associations over the years, including chairmanship of the British trade association, BACTA.

The funeral will be at All Saints’ Parish Church, Loughborough, Leicestershire, on Saturday, January 10, at 12.30pm.
