"Things are going pretty well for us in the Middle East," the company's creative design manager, Patrick Ager, told InterGame. "We are doing business with three of the major players, including Magic Planet.

"As far as the show is concerned, we don't expect to do as much business on the stand as we would at a European show, but there is plenty of follow-up. People who have visited our stand at the show go to our website and contact us later."

He added that one particular trait about Middle East customers was that they were either very big companies or very small ones. Business is carried out directly from the UK.

"Customers in this region are very much into redemption, with a particular interest in licensed products so there is plenty of business for us to do, he said. "We anticipate that the Angry Birds line will be a definite success here."

Whitehouse Leisure's best Middle East market is Dubai, but business is also good in Kuwait and Bahrain.
